Bean Blossom in northern Brown County is home to one of the most important institutions in bluegrass music — the Bill Monroe Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival. Every June, about 20,000 fans of the oldest continuously operating bluegrass festival in the United States gather for eight days at the Bill Monroe Music Park and Campground in Bean Blossom. They come to listen to more than 65 top bluegrass performers, while amateur musicians experiment with their own versions of the music they love.
