Welcome to one of the oldest bluegrass festivals in the world! One of Bill Monroe’s role models was his fiddle playin’ Uncle Pendleton Vandiver, whom he paid tribute to in the hit song Uncle Pen. Bill created the honorary Bluegrass Hall of Fame & Uncle Pen Days festival to not only honor is Uncle Pen, but to pay tribute to those he felt made contributions to bluegrass music. Now in our thirty-fifth year, enjoy 4 fun-filled days of music, over twenty-five performing artists, music and instrument workshops; and a lot of pickin’ and jammin’. The highlight of this event is the official Bluegrass Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony thatwill take place on Saturday, September 26th. This year we are honored to celebrate the contributions that 2009 Hall of Fame Inductee Doc Watson has made to bluegrass and folk music.
